Next up, we have a bunch of menstrual fetishists demonstrating outside of Proctor and Gamble headquarters in Cincinnati, claiming that they don't get hard anymore when wearing Always pads because P&G took the female symbol off the box. Then, dumpster divers chime in claiming P&G, by no longer associating Always pads with females, have caused them to lose interest in a formerly erotic activity.
I'm not that familiar with the female-to-male community. I have read that a lot of FTM's find getting a period very disturbing. This is the first I have heard of FTM's experiencing gender dysphoria because of a female symbol on a package of SANPRO products.
So, either one of two things are behind this. Either FTM's are legitimately getting upset, or P&G's publicists cooked this whole thing up to get free publicity with a "weird news" press release.
P&G bought up a company called Shulton years ago. I think the only thing P&G markets yet from Shulton is Old Spice products. Shulton used to market a aerosol deodorant called Manpower. It got taken off the market when one the ingredients, hexachlorophene, was found to be carcinogenic. They reformulated it and sold it under the Old Spice name. So maybe these activists should pressure P&G to start selling Manpower brand SANPRO products.

I heard about this the other day since someone had Howard Stern on in the background. I don’t think this was cooked up by publicists, but rather by the whiny people who populate social media and get fed up at everything and anything, regardless of whether or not it affects them directly. According to the Howard Stern piece, Always has always had the Venus on their packaging somewhere since their inception. My first reaction was “umm, where?” That goes double for the current packaging, (as of the start of this year,) can someone tell or better, show me where the Venus is/was on the packaging? I can’t find it, and what I have predates this announcement by several months. Seriously, I’m genuinely curious where this was/is on the current line that’s about to be changed. My second reaction was “does this matter?” I mean, there are so many worse things happening to trans people than having to see a female symbol on a package of period supplies, that a menstrual fetishist can’t even locate easily that this seems like painting a wall while leaving a giant hole in a ceiling.
I’ll probably continue to give more of my business to Kimberly-Clark’s U by Kotex brand after this, they actually doubled down on the “Venus” in their current U by Kotex “Security” line which used it to emphasize the “O” in Kotex. (The “CleanWear” and “AllNighter” lines retain their trendy style, while the “Security” line retains its traditional style, so this doesn’t surprise me.) Come to think of it, I’ve only seen the “Venus” on Kotex/U by Kotex packaging, not Always, so I don’t know where P&G is removing it from given that I can’t even find it to begin with.
