Each year several charitable organizations that serve the homeless and under privileged solicit donations using the local paper This year there were several requests for feminine hygiene products. Luckily I was able to donate some supplies that I have had since my last g/f and I parted ways. When I took them to the local agency office the lady at the front desk didn't blink an eye when I brought them to her. Evidently there is a greater need than I realized.

Bluejay67, I'm not surprised by the reaction of the lady at the front desk. This is so important and so overlooked that I feel your post should be made "sticky" for the holiday season at the very least if Kayo is okay with doing it. While everyone thinks of clothing, and most think of typical toiletries at times as well, no one ever, ever, ever remembers pads and tampons matter too. People either just assume that charitable organizations have budgeted for them, or are simply too embarrassed to be seen with them in their donations. This is where people here could help since I'm guessing a lot of us aren't embarrassed to be seen with menstrual products, and we could probably do what a lot of other people won't by donating them.

There is a big drive in my area as well. I dropped off an assortment of various pads and tampons. These items were not on the list of items they were accepting. The person receiving them from me told me " I REALLY wish they would add these items to the list. No one seems to think about donating them and there is a huge need"
