Apparently this week is 'Shark Week' on the Discovery channel Wonder if the people at the Discovery channel know what the term 'shark week' means: www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=shark+week I'd like to make a shark week documentary, but it wouldn't have anything to do with sharks!

Despite the jokes about 'shark week', menstrual blood doesn't attract sharks. But it does attract polar bears! A study conducted by a University of Montana researcher concluded that polar bears are attracted by menstrual odours. The three bears used in the study all responded to scent of used tampons and to three menstruating women who sat in front of the bear's cage. Blood samples were also obtained from the same women who provided the used tampons, but the bears did not respond to the blood samples. Anyway, for anyone who is interested, here's a link to the study's findings: www.bearbiology.com/fileadmin/tpl/Downloads/URSUS/Vol_5/Cushing_Vol_5.pdf Wonder if they had any trouble recruiting woman to take part in the study - the wording of the ad would have been interesting!

We never had a cat, but my friend told me that her cat shredded a kotex pad she found in the bathroom trash. After that they got a trash bin with a cover on it. There must be something to it.

Interesting - I've heard of that sort of behaviour from dogs, but not cats.

The thing was she said the cat was acting all freaky and pawing it and being twitchy. I dunno anything about cats, maybe its some kind of smell thing going on in their little pea brain. I forgot to add that after my friend told me that story she said "all pussies like pads" or something. Not true.
