A website devoted to discussion of legal prostitution in Nevada recently had a thread on how the working girls in the brothels handle their periods: sex-in-nevada.net/smforum/index.php?topic=27511 As you might guess, it varies from woman to woman. Some use hormonal birth control to assure they don't get periods very often. For those who cannot use HBC, some do take the day off when pain, cramps, etc. are particularly bad. When they don't take the day off, they usually use a sponge. What's interesting about the thread is that a couple of male customers made it clear that they didn't at all mind sex with a prostitute who was visibly "on." One of them wrote, "They seem to typically use a sponge. I partied with one courtesan who seemed to have a heavy flow that day, so it was noticeable despite that. I found it very human and attractive, and it showed that everything was in working order!"
