"What's better than an average doll? One that gets her period, of course!
Wait, what?
Yep, that's right. Now your kiddo's doll can pretend to have her period, thanks to a new line of products called "Period Party."
Nickolay Lamm, creator of the Lammily doll — the one that's kinda like Barbie but has proportions similar to the average 19-year-old American woman — took things a step further: normalizing periods. (They're already normal, of course, but we don't always act like it.)..."

You know something... at first i was like, ok, that's really going a bit too far.
But then, I was thinking about the conversation I had with Susu about the differences between men and women. (We haven't had the sex talk but she knows more or less that it takes two). Why doesn't someone just market pads for Barbie? You could buy them as part of a "family planning" accessory package. Include a few stick-on condoms for Ken too while you're at it. It would be a great way to have this conversation with your daughter.

I have to agree with you on this one Kayo. My initial reaction to this was "what sort of laughably stupid idea is this," but after thinking about it for a bit, it actually seems a lot smarter than I initially thought. I could also see your idea about condoms for a Ken doll being particularly helpful for health instructors in areas where they might not be able to use the "condom over a banana/cucumber" technique since it involves an actual condom, and now that I think about it, the "family planning" accessory package sounds like something that should be a thing.
