Does anyone know why KFF was offline?
For the last couple of days, the Forum was replaced by the message 'In accordance with Section 25(a) of the ProBoards Terms of Service, this forum has been taken offline.' I posted a question on the ProBoards Support forum asking why KFF had been taken offline, but I got no useful replies.
I guess more importantly, what can be done to stop the TOS being breached in the future?

Well that sucked. I was in the hospital for two weeks, this is an ongoing issue for me and nothing to worry about. Except that all this nonsense happened, what a thing to come home to. Oh well. I deleted the porn posts, and from now on, membership will be via request, not automatic. This will at least give me a chance to see what someone is up to.

There seems to have been an upsurge in spam lately, so I think membership by request is a good idea. Sorry to hear you haven't been well

Kayo, so sorry to hear you have not been well. Hope things are all better. I too was worried when the site went offline and was concerned it was going to disappear yet again. Glad things are back up :-)

There seems to have been an upsurge in spam lately, so I think membership by request is a good idea. Membership by request is definitely a good idea. Other forums that I've used usually have some sort of simple registration as a requirement to post, but they keep the usual spammers out by either building in something like CAPTCHA or a simple question pertaining to the topic of the board that anyone interested in the subject should be able to answer. This always seems to remove most of the spam registrations, with only the most clever (or lucky) spammers getting through. I'm glad to already be a registered member here, but registration by request seems like a good idea, and if not that, something similar like placing registrations into a queue to be manually approved by staff or one of the methods mentioned above.
