We used to joke about the fake handles, but after a while I really came to sort of feel sorry for some posters who felt the need to hide... especially on a forum like this where just about anything goes, and no one cares. I have to say that as a group, the members we've had over the years have been funny, intelligent, and more sociable than most. Very few arguments, very few insults. I really think that menstrual fans seem to have a lot more patience and compassion for each other than some groups. A maturity mixed with humble humor. A very nice bunch of wackos... lol.

Hey I just typed "Biancas Flow Forum" into Google.... and this forum is already showing up on page 1!!! How cool is THAT. I guess if we mention Spam Free Forums periods menstrual tampon kotex blood monthly cramps masturbate red wings string sanitary ... that will work too, hahahaha.

Does anyone remember the #period IRC channel we used to use to chat? I wonder if anyone still uses it...

Eighteen years or so (for me) is a long time. I haven't been around lately because Karel set the timeout to three months on SFF. I was locked out and couldn't get into a lot of the old email accounts I set up (I was paranoid back in those days). I never did re-register. Like roadfood.com, everything that could be said already has been said. The only thing noteworthy now is changes. For some reason, I now seem to remember more about the housekeeping issues and drama associated with the various forum platforms than the actual content. There were always the spammers, the cranks, the imposters, the bullies, the flooders. Like the clockwise purge of police corruption every 25 years in NYC, it seems every 5 years or so the website tanked and a new forum had to be set up. As time went on, the "heat" no longer went after sites discussing sensitive subjects. And the number of cranks kept decreasing with each new forum platform. About content, I always had an erotic curiosity about menstruation but no where (as far as I know) was it discussed. Until Bianca'a. What I found most useful were descriptions by women about WHAT IT'S REALLY LIKE. Which culminated in me once attending a 5-day crossdresser's convention fully dressed, it you get what I mean. Funny, a lot of those conventions have also gone by the wayside and those remaining are now more geared towards meeting the needs of transsexuals. Towards the end of the run at SFF, there were very few posts or questions posed by new people. While I had no way of knowing how many lurkers there were, my guess is that this formerly taboo subject was now more in the open. Eighteen years ago, I would have never guessed that gay marriage would ever be legal nationwide. I also didn't think that I would be still coming around here. Guess I have to register again.

I remember Bi-Cindy from Bianca's original forum back in 1996-7. Her posts were very interesting.

Nice to see something show up when I clicked SFF's link. Does anyone know what happened to Karel(Killer)? I know a few years back Boneit told me he had a few strokes. I hope he's OK. Thanks for any info.

Hello. Some of the archives are available on the Wayback Machine (good old web.archive.org), if you have the patience to click around in their interface. So if you happen to know the day of a post you're looking for, you might get lucky. On a side note, with the various restrictions and the hosting issues, would anyone be interested in going old school and starting a Usenet group? No more worries about hosting, people can access it via Google Groups if they're not into newsreaders, and moderation is still possible. The group soc.sexuality.general still gets a few posters, we could test the waters there or I could spearhead the new group process for, say, soc.sexuality.menstruation. Warning - posting on Usenet may induce flashbacks to 1996. I never did understand how to get a USENET group started. I tried to start one pertaining to menstruation and got nowhere. There are some Reddit groups dealing with periods. Maybe start something over there? I'm interested in menstruation ranging from the medical aspects, social, and do enjoy the "naughty" photos and videos. It seems like outside of this forum they've all leaned towards porn.

I have a very unique name and am way too easy to find online. This is why I use a pseudonym. When I chat with people one-on-one I will generally reveal myself. I just don't want to risk a bunch of period fetish stuff coming up when someone searches my name.

I'm familiar with the process, it's just rarely done in this day and age. The thing that worries me about Reddit is they can shut you down whenever they want. That used to not happen, now it does sometimes. Let me poke around and see what I can find.

Anyone remember Sherlock Holmes? He tried to sniff out (so to speak) the real from the cyber-women. He wasn't always right (he thought Jada was a man...) but I still miss him. I remember him! Wow, how time has flown! The original Flow Forum on Bianca helped me pass many a night when I was working in China back in the 1990s. I was more interested in the dynamics of the forum than the topic. I think I found it through a list along the lines of "Sites you never imagined existed." It was a very friendly place, although there were a couple of obnoxious types. It was probably against forum rules, but I had another handle in addition to SH. It was sort of a "good cop, bad cop" routine. I did the cyber-sniffing under SH, but posted more informative stuff under the handle Jock. After I returned to the NYC area, I followed the Flow Forum for awhile, but other things gradually took over. On a nostalgic whim, I googled Kayo's Flow Forum and was surprised to find it in its current form. EDIT IN: The new forum looks great! Good job, Kayo! Sherlock
