"Tina Muir is a professional runner who ran the London Marathon in 2016 in 2 hours and 37 minutes (that's 6-minute miles, BTW). She was at the peak of her career when suddenly, at 28, she announced her retirement. Muir wrote a lengthy post about her decision on her website in April.
In the post, Muir explains that she’s spent the last 9 years of her 14-year running career without having her period, a condition known as amenorrhea. Muir wants to have children, and she says she wants to take active steps to preserve her fertility—hence the decision to stop running so she can get her period back..."
