Interesting - according to the article, "many iterations" of the ad were rejected. It'd be interesting to know what the differences were between these versions and the ad that was accepted, and the reasons why they were rejected.
I had a bit of a smile when I read the first paragraph of the article - "It's probably fair to say most ads about sanitary products tend to be pretty neutrally 'safe,' We’re pretty certain most of them actually avoid even mentioning the word period, let alone the terms bleeding, menstruation and any others that signify a woman’s time of the month". I wonder if the author noticed that after talking about using "safe" words, she ends the sentence with a euphemism, lol.
