Time once more for my annual repost of this beloved holiday classic

It was Christmas Eve and Mrs. Bailey was in bed. (This was the 1940's, so of course it was a separate bed from her husband George.) It had not been a particularly happy Christmas Eve for her. The cramps, the bloating--no doubt about it, her period was due to arrive shortly. As she put on her Kotex and belt before going to bed, she had thought to herself, "Gee, I wish I never had periods at all!"
She had been in bed for a while--and she thought she had fallen asleep--when suddenly she saw a middle-aged woman come up to her. "Who--who are you?" Mrs. Bailey stammered.
"No need to be upset, dearie. I'm your Aunt Flo. I see you're wishing you never had periods. Well, you know something? Go back to sleep! When you get up, you'll have your wish. You'll see what your life would have been like if you never had periods."
Mrs. Bailey went back to sleep for a while, then got up. She screamed. Why was she in some hovel instead of her comfortable home? Why was George not there? Why was her daughter not there? She paced around and suddenly saw Aunt Flo again.
"Aunt Flo!" she screamed. "Where am I? where is my daughter? Where is George?"
"What daughter?" asked Aunt Flo coldly. "Menstruation is part of the reproductive process. If a woman doesn't menstruate, she can't have children. You never had periods, so you couldn't have any children!"
"But--but--where is George?"
"George wanted children. When he learned his sweetheart didn't menstruate and couldn't have children, he decided he'd better marry someone else. Besides, he is secretly a flow lover. "But why am I in this hovel?"

Mrs. Bailey said, "Look--can't you do anything for me? I really am sorry I ever regretted having periods. Please let it be so that I have periods again and always had them. Please help me!"
Aunt Flo smiled, "Dearie, just go back to sleep. You never thought of me this way, but I'm an angel. When you get up, things will be OK. And remember--every time a bell rings, a woman gets her period!"
Mrs. Bailey somehow got back to sleep. Suddenly, she heard the bells of her nearby church ring. It was Christmas morning. There she was in her beautiful house with George in the nearby bed. She checked the room nearby--there was her little daughter, sleeping safe and sound. Finally, Mrs. Bailey felt under her nightgown. She smiled. No doubt her panties were ruined, despite the Kotex--but suddenly she didn't mind at all.
She went up to George's bed and noticed that George was now awake. "Honey", she told him, "Merry Christmas! And I have a special gift for you today!
