The company that markets absorbent underwear for women who are having their period has now launched a range of period-absorbing male underwear for transgender men who menstruate. According to this article, if trans men take testosterone, it often halts periods – but menstruation can be particularly traumatic when it does happen: www.pinknews.co.uk/2015/11/17/company-creates-period-shorts-for-transgender-men/The article includes a video interview with a trans male model and actor, Sawyer DeVuyst, who discusses what it's like to identify as a man, but to still menstruate.

I have talked about these companies that make "period underwear" products over the years. Except for old line companies like Kleinerts, these companies never lasted very long. Even tried some of their products. My take on them is that most of these companies did not have the deep pockets to design, manufacture, and market a really good product. Either their sizing was off, or did not have a wide enough array of sizes, or they didn't fit well enough, or they weren't comfortable enough to wear, or were too expensive.
With sites like Facebook, these companies may have a better chance of success. If you look at the Facebook page for THINX,
www.facebook.com/SheTHINX/
there are a number of threads active in November 2015 that have comments from customers discussing shortcomings of the products. There is a comment from a transman to a post of November 18, 2015 about a shortcoming of the product aimed at transmen. With feedback like this, the designers have a better chance now of coming up with profitable products.
With her knowledge of the fashion industry, I'd be curious to hear Kayo's thoughts on why these products just don't catch on.
